Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Flying Branch: Minimum 60% in graduation with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or BE/B.Tech degree.
- Ground Duty (Technical): Degree in Engineering/Technology with required disciplines.
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Graduation with minimum 60% in any discipline.
Age Limit
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (as on 1 July 2026)
- Ground Duty Branches: 20 to 26 years (as on 1 July 2026)
Nationality
The candidate must be a citizen of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act.
Entrance Exam Details
The AFCAT exam is conducted twice a year by the IAF. It consists of 100 questions with 300 marks covering General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude. For technical branches, an Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) is also conducted.
